September, 18th

I learned a lot much this week in class and it was really enjoyable for me. This week we finally got to learn how to create a website! Two years ago I learned how to create a website but it was only briefly. Now I get to learn in depth about how to add hyperlinks, pictures and so much more. We did a quick overview in class on Wednesday but I'm excited to learn even more like how to upload videos.

I can tell this will be really helpful in the future. If I ever want to help a new business, company, sports team, or organization with the creation of a webpage, then I will have the knowledge. This will impress many future employers. When I graduate from LHU and go out into the world to find a job I want to have had perfected skills that will impress employers.

Every class we learn something new and beneficial and I can't wait to see what we learn tomorrow!

This is an example of a chart I created last week in excel! It shows the grades of students in a class I made up.
This is an example of my yearly income from parents, jobs and scholarship money.

September, 11th- A day of reflection and rememberance

Today is a good day to reflect about not only class but also life. It is September 11th, a day that did, is, and will affect the people of our country. This day ten years ago changed our country for all of time. Today I want to take time to not only reflect on this class but also reflect on my life and be happy for all that I do have. Some people are so worried and caught up on what they don't have when really we should be grateful for what we do have.

On that note, I'm grateful for getting an education and being able to take classes like this that further my knowledge. This week, I was only in class once due to the holiday and athletic games. Although I was only in class once, I still learned a lot on friday. We learned how to how to work more with word, powerpoint and other Microsoft tools. I learned how exactly to use the thesaurus in word. I never knew before how to look up new words that I might want to use.

These Microsoft tools will help me sharpen my techniques so in the future i can effectively create projects. When I had my internship this summer for the United States Golf Association, I had to use excel almost every day. I had to organize sales and such for each day and a number of departments. I probably would've been able to create them faster if i had more knowledge of the tools. I am confident this class will help me in the future for my jobs. I feel so much more confident in my abilities when I have more knowledge of the subject. My goal for this semester is to take in and learn as much as I can. I look forward to doing so next week!

September, 4th. Why I blog

Welcome blog followers,
My name is Madeline Fazio and I'm a junior at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. I'm originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I live with my three sisters, one brother, and mom and dad. I enjoy playing sports and cheering for my beloved Philadelphia Phillies. While here at LHU, I am expanding my knowlege through many classes.

This week in EDF300 we learned how to creat a gmail acout as well as start our very own blog! I have never had a blog before so I'm so excited to expand my knowlege of the internet. I started using technology such as the internet when I was in middle school. We learned how to simply type but now that I am 20 I have learned so much more. I love being on the computer but I never knew how to create fun tools like blogs.

One specific thing I learned during class was how to make the screen bigger if you can't read the font. You can do this by pressing control +. You can then make the screen smaller by control-. I am excited to learn even the smallest tricks like this to make working on the computer easier.

I want to learn more about technology to make me a more educated person. I want to be able to be a contributing member of society by helping others and educating others. I don't want to just go out into the world without bringing something of use with myself. When one first gets a job in the Sport Administration field usually it will be an office job. This requires knowledge of many computer programs. My goal is to have the skills I need before that time comes around. This way I can impress future employers.

More to come next week!
